Manufacturers are improving kitchen products all of the time and the latestinclude being fingerprintless and repairable.

The design of a kitchengenerally starts with a conversation around practicality and then what statement, if any, the client is wanting to make.

Mr Allinson observed people werebecoming more aware of colour themes.

“When we consult with people about the design of their kitchen and the practicality of it, people listen and learn from us. That’s things like how best to utilise space,” he said.

“But when it comes to colourpeople are savvy enough to know what they’re working with at home, or what colour palette they’re working with in the new house that they’re building. That’s good because once they’ve got a starting point our consultants can put it together.”

Timber has seen a resurgence in home exteriors and is being used for effect inside as well.

“It can be used for its texture, grains and tonesand can bring other colours you are usingtogether or it can warm up your kitchen,” Mr Allinson said.

“The general rule is you never really want to go over three different colours. If done wellyou can go more butit’s a fine line.”

It is also still possible to do a stylish kitchen on a budget.

“You can match it with entry-level products, which are just as durable as anything else, andif you’re working with a budget, there’s no reason why you still can’t get a kitchen with wow factor,” he said.

“The kitchen is the foundation, the heart of the home, and everything is built around that central location.”
